FREE to all... text reader and voice to text

The Premium toolbar in TextHelp's Google extension, Read & Write for Google Chrome (RW4G) seems to be a hot commodity these days.  Many of you have students who would benefit from the powerful combination of a text reader and voice to text, but your students do not have the physical access issues that require these tools to access curriculum.

Good News!

1. The text reader feature in the RW4G extension is free. Always has been and most likely, always will be. To install:

have student sign in to their google account
open google drive
click apps button
click store
search "read & write for google"
click on free
add
enter google password
accept

open a google document
continue
accept
close

2. Google Chrome has a built-in (free) Voice Typing option. When in a Google Document, click on "Tools" then "Voice Typing" then "Click to speak"

If you are still interested in obtaining the other premium features (word prediction, highlighting tools, voice notes, picture dictionary, etc.), you now have a "Fast Track" option. This route gives qualifying students access to the premium toolbar features without an AT evaluation or our consultative services.

Hope this helps and as always, please feel free to contact your AT rep with any questions.
