Free resources for digital summer reading...
Some of these are more fun than others. Unfortunately, most do not highlight word-by-word:
http://www.magickeys.com/books / - Install the free Read&Write for Google extension from the Chrome Webstore to have these free books read aloud.
http://www.ric.edu/sherlockcen ter/wwslist.html - adapted books
http://0-asp.tumblebooks.com.nell.boulderlibrary.org/Home.aspx?categoryID=13 - Tumble Books (many local libraries have organizational accounts that you can access for free with your local library card)
https://www.gutenberg.org/ - free online book repository for books out of copy-write
https://www.overdrive.com/ - links to your local library for you to check out audio books
https://www.learningally.org/ I hear that parents like this when looking at personal subscriptions. (I do not believe it does word-by-word hi-lighting though)
https://www.amazon.com/kindle- dbs/fd/kcp - I believe there are free books in Amazon.
http://www.childrensbooksonlin e.org/library.htm - Choose "Books with Audio"
https://www.freechildrenstorie s.com/age-8-10-1 - links you to Vimeo videos
http://www.indypl.org/readytor ead/?p=6150 - links you to YouTube videos / Reading Rainbow
Happy Summer Reading!
